Today was a big day. We brought Anna home from her stay in the wilds of the north mountain at Camp YoliJwa where she spent the week growing in her faith, bouncing off of trees and talking to her peers with actual words instead of abbreviations on a screen. IDK. LOL. AS:DFAJSDF:LJ. I have no idea what I’m doing. One of Aidan’s favorite pasttimes at church camp is playing in the fountain with his net where one can catch cool stuff like tadpoles, newts and if you’re having a REALLY bad day, leptospirosis. Or in texting lingo, LPTOPUK.
When we arrived home, the first thing Anna did was hook up her IV drip to Facebook. When was the last time YOU were away for 6 whole days, cut off from seeing which one of your friends had the best duck face cell phone picture taken and who achieved level quadrillion in Candy Crush, huh? That’s what I thought. Don’t judge her. Beckham, our dear cat, was just beside himself waiting for her to arrive back home. She’s his absolute favorite because apparently her bed is better than any other place in the house. You could practically see him smile.
And no day is complete without a good guinea pig wrangling session. It’s really becoming an event with these two. Aidan has on his gladiator outfit because one can’t be too careful. Please pay special attention to the lanyards that Claire made. Only official staff personnel was permitted inside the guinea pig arena. If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.
Lastly, I started packing the van for a quick trip to the beach next week. You know-wagon, beach chairs, miniature antique Victorian settee, the usual.
In case you were wondering, I’m looking forward to taking newborn pictures of my brand new cousin in Garnet Valley which just happens to be almost on our way home. That’s what the tiny furniture is for – just in case we decide to use it! (Although it would make a nice chaise for one of my legs.)
